Wild Islands & Estuaries (Wilderness Southeast)

Join a Naturalist  aboard a 45-foot pontoon boat on a discovery cruise through Georgia's marvelous
tidal creeks and salt marsh. You'll look for and learn about dolphins, birds, oysters, and other
inhabitants of the coastal estuary. Venturing ashore on Georgia's youngest barrier island, Williamson
Island, you'll learn how this newest island was built. And you'll be able to ask about all those strange
and wonderful things that have washed ashore. Group size: 20-35. $40 fee. Meet at Bull River Marina.

Bull River Eco-Adventure Cruise          Call for Availibility


This signature cruise travels Bull River through the salt marshes down to the barrier islands. Along
this narrated cruise, we'll enjoy and learn about marshland and tidal river ecology. Viewing and
exploring the barrier islands and learning the history of these pristine wonders is always a treat. We'll
watch dolphins at play and egrets stalking along the oyster beds. Another activity is pulling the trawl
net and seeing the undersea life dwelling in the river. This educational trip is fun for all ages and
qualifies Girl Scouts to earn the Coastal Georgia Patch. Call 912-898-1800 for cost and reservations.


Harbor to Refuge (Wilderness Southeast)Call for next trip

Join naturalist John "Crawfish" Crawford and Capt. Mike Neal aboard the 47-foot "Island Explorer" for
a journey back in time. Beginning amidst the bustle of the harbor, you'll proceed upriver looking for
wildlife at historic Mulberry Grove Plantation and the serene expanse of the Savannah National
Wildlife Refuge. Group size: 12-25.  $45/person fee.  Meet at River Street Public Pier. Reservations
required!

Oct 5-Oct 8, 2007 Savannah River Expedition

Bull River Cruises and the Savannah Riverkeeper are hosting their fourth two hundred mile,
4 day, river expedition to promote the ecological and historic importance of the Savannah
River. Past years expedition was a wonderful success and we plan this year to be even
better. This excursion will explore this alluvial river from Augusta to Savannah. We will be
traveling aboard the vessel “Island Explorer”, a 45 foot passenger vessel. Four days of
nature will combine with history as we wander the winding beauty of the Savannah River.
Kayaking, natural and cultural history and birding are just a sample of the activities that will
be enjoyed while on this path of the Savannah.         

Accommodations choices are varied; camping with beautiful riverside sites will be available;
those who want more comfortable accommodations will have that option.  The Savannah
Riverkeeper invites those who want to learn and explore this wonderful wilderness to join us
for this trip. A variety of packages are offered and include camping or cabin

Savannah River Discovery Cruises-
Next Cruise....Call

Explore the river with the Savannah Riverkeeper and discover the diversity of the river’s shoreline. We’ll
depart from Historic Ebenezer Landing, explore the Savannah Wildflife Refuge,  wander alongside
Mulberry Grove Plantation, then through the harbor with its massive container ships, experience the river’
s view of historic downtown Savannah and then coast on into the estuaries, where the river meets the
ocean. This will be a 45 mile river trip filled with nature and history. Day-long outings will run from March
